Oxsoralen: The Answer to Psoriasis

The type of phototherapy known as PUVA or psoralen plus ultraviolet A is characterized by the combined use of medication like Oxsoralen and UVA light. Oxsoralen is a photosensitizer. This means that it can make the skin more sensitive to UVA light. Oxsoralen contains a psoralen compound known as methoxsalen which is a natural plant substance.
